Christmas Week

I have been tired this week so my posts have been on the scant side.  Here is what I have worn so far this week.  Monday and Tuesday's outfits are remixed from suits that I have.  Today's is not really inspired by anything, just hastily put together since I was in a rush this morning.

A Social Weekend

This was a lovely weekend.  On Saturday we went out with friends for some karaoke and today I spent a couple of hours hanging out with a dear friend.  I always forget how important this type of thing when I am in the thick of things.  Sometimes we need to take some time to simply reflect.  I am looking forward to this week as it will be the last week the office will be open for the year (yay!).  Then I get some much needed R&R before the new year rolls around.  So without further ado, here is the outfit I wore on Saturday: the top is Moda, the skirt is June (thrifted), and the boots are Ralph Lauren.

A Blue Day

I am very happy the week is coming to a close.  I'm having a bit of blue day today, hence my very depressing choice in color for today's outfit.  I'm not sure what the cause for my melancholy is.  Perhaps its the shorter days, or the colder weather.  Whatever the case, I am hoping it is short lived.  This weekend is looking very promising.  Saturday will involve some karoke and Sunday will be spent catching up with an old friend.  Hopefully, that will cure what ails me.  So here is my outfit: top is Express, pants are New York & Co., shoes are from Target.

Snow!

I have been a bit lazy the last few days and have not posted anything.  I ended up falling asleep.  It has been extremely cold the last few days.  There must be some sort of weather system passing through.  Today we got some flurries, so naturally everyone decided to become paranoid and drive 5 miles an hour all the way to work this morning.  It was great fun.  Anyway,  my outfit choices thus far have been so so.  I had a client meeting yesterday and wore a suit, which is a nice change from the usual.  Today I ended up wearing all velvet, which is a little different.  The end of the year is finally drawing to a close.  It is amazing how fast this year has gone by.  Anyway, here are my outfits for the last three days.

Off to a Party!

I went to some stores today, but I will admit I didn't keep to my different outfit everyday rule.  Laziness was the primary factor there.  Yesterday, I went to a friend's birthday party, and yes, I stuck to my rule.  Overall this experiment is going very well, I have essentially not repeated an outfit for about three months.  I still have plenty left in my wardrobe, so the experiment continues on.  Anyway, I bought this dress at a thrift store primarily because I loved the color.  Unfortunately, it didn't fit.  Now it does, so I thought this would be the perfect occasion to wear it.  I got the tights at a sock store in the mall, the shoes are Jessica Simpson, the bangle was a gift from my grandma, and I made the earrings.

Laid Back Friday

Another week has come to an end.  I have been enjoying my netflix movie service.  I love the instant movie thing, it is fabulous.  Anyway, today I decided to wear jeans.  This is a rare event for me, since I rarely wear jeans to work.  However, the combination of the cold weather and not having enough pants that fit (they are to big), jeans seemed like a decent alternative.  It is a Friday afterall.  So here is my outfit:  jeans are Paris Blue, top is from H&M, and shoes are Jessica Simpson.

Pink!

I felt a little more inspired today and decided to mix and match some of my suits.  The skirt is from a suit that is all pink and it was so cute I bought it.  I didn't fit into it at the time I bought it, so now that I am thinner I can wear it.  The jacket is from a suit I bought years ago and rarely wear.  The top is one I had and is lace (I love lace).  The boots are Ralph Lauren and the tights are Charlotte Russe.

It's Hot Cocoa Season :)

Well the temperatures just keep dropping.  This leaves me wanting to come home, get under the covers, and veg out.  Not exactly productive.  I did make dinner today though, in a half hearted effort to try to win the battle against lethargy.  Thus far, the lethargy seems to be winning.  Work is hectic as usual.  Although the craziness seems to be more muted this week, which I am grateful for.  I did not feel all that inspired today.  My outfit is as follows: the top is a gift, the skirt is from Express, and the boots are Michael Kors.  I will try to do better with tomorrow's fashion choice.

A Black and White Day

I can't believe the end of the year is almost upon us.  Where did the year go?  Well it is absolutely freezing outside.  I suppose that's better than the piles of snow we had last year.  I forgot to mention where I went on Saturday.  The hubs, and friends of ours went to see a play called "Around the World in 80 Days."  Yes, this is an adaptation of the Jules Verne classic.  It was hilarious, we essentially laughed the entire time.  We also got to meet the cast, since one of them is the cousin of two of our friends.  I highly recommend folks to go see this play if it is being performed in your area, you will not be disappointed.  I have to say, I was reminded of how much I love theatre on Saturday.  It is something I will try to attend more of in 2011.  Well with that here is my outfit for today:  The jacket is thrifted, the shirt is Old Navy, the pants are The Limited, and the shoes are from Target.

Back from Vacay

Technically I came back on the 26th of November, but I haven't gotten around to posting anything until.  I will post pictures of last week's photo's sometime this week as well.  Vacation was awesome.  I have to say that the relationship between parent and child changes once one is an adult, as I discovered with my mother.  We were able to have frank and candid conversations that really brought us together.  For the most part everything went pretty smoothly.  It did rain half the time, which was not to much fun.  However, we were unfased by mother nature and soldiered on.  All together we visted 6 cities: Rome, Vatican City, Venice, Paris, Barcelona, and Madrid.  It was a power vacation of sorts.  Each city was unique and beautiful in it's own way.  As this was my mother's first time to Europe, she had a lovely time.  I would recommend every adult child travel with a parent at some point in their life.  It is a terrific to really discover your parent in new and suprising ways.  I will post pictures of my vacation in another post.  Here is my outfit for today: the skirt is Ann Klien (thrifted), the cardigan is Eddie Baur, the top is from Target, and the shoes are Michael Kors.
